Web projects

Two websites designed and developed by avolve designs have been included in the National Library of Australia's PANDORA (Preserving and Accessing Networked Documentary Resources of Australia) archive. The purpose of the PANDORA Archive is outlined on the National Library of Australia's (NLA) website as:

to collect and provide long-term access to selected online publications and web sites that are about Australia, are by an Australian author on a subject of social, political, cultural, religious, scientific or economic significance and relevance to Australia, or are by an Australian author of recognised authority and make a contribution to international knowledge.

The first website designed and developed by avolve designs to be archived by the NLA was the Sandon Point website, in January 2004. Inclusion of the Sandon Point website in the Pandora archive was a reflection of the significance of the actions of the local community—which still continue today.

In June 2008, a request was made to add the Bring David Hicks Home website to the Pandora archive. Whilst the Bring David Hicks Home website was to be included in a broader collection of materials related to David Hicks, the significance of the website and the actions of the community activists behind it were acknowledged when the 'Bring David Hicks Home' float in the 2007 Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras received the top award for 'Most Outstanding Political Comment'.
